Walking Out...

I lay here restless unable to sleep because of my absurd and confusing day

But yesterday wasn’t that much better anyway.

Our race has gone far enough when we can no longer trust those around us

When people just merely show us a reflection of what kind of good person they “could” be

But we all know that, that reflection fades away with the dark.

The feeling you get when you see the reflection fading is one of heart-throbbing anxiety that completely upsets you

You felt that this person was kind and trustworthy and you try to stay brave as the reflection fades

But bravery soon turns into a disturbed feeling because you’re angry, annoyed and completely frustrated.

The feelings you once felt about the fading reflection now become your own regrets

And you feel like this could have all been avoided and then there would be no debts.

You stare at this person as you once did with happiness as their hands strike against your collar bone

And you find yourself breathless, not from the blow but from their disloyalty as they run away with the only piece of good left in them.

The reflection fades as the shadow invades with nothing but corruption and disgrace.
